Finding out the details of a working Mac are easy using a Macintosh System Report. If your Mac won't boot or isn't accessible, you have a few other ways to look up most of the specifications with some help from Apple.
If you want to dig a little deeper and see statistics for your Mac's individual hardware and software components, then macOS can provide a detailed System Report containing a wealth of information about pretty much every part of your Mac: Click the ‘Apple' logo in the toolbar. Note: This tool can't look up the exactspecs of a specific Mac. If the hard drive or RAM was changed after shipment, online tools won't know this information.You'll need your Apple ID, password and two-factor device handy (if applicable) to pull up your support profile. While you're in there: Update your phone number and personal information. In most situations, the System Report gives you the exact details of your Mac. If it won't boot or it isn't handy, these options are a good alternative. That's great to know if your Mac is stolen and you have to report the details to the police or your insurance company.

The System Information app provides detailed specifications and other information about your Mac hardware and software, including your network and external devices. In some versions of OS X, this app is called System Profiler.
Choose Apple menu > About This Mac. This opens an overview of your Mac, including your Mac model, processor, memory, serial number, and version of macOS. Are coin pushers legal in alabama. To see the greater detail provided by the System Information app, click the System Report button.
